GLENN O'BRIEN

It all started at a 1000-watt local AM station in a college town, and now Glenn's wild radio journey has come full circle at WILI as he closes in on forty years of broadcasting.    Glenn is known as a utility announcer, covering a wide variety of on air duties at all six radio stations of Hall Communications and Nutmeg Broadcasting in eastern Connecticut.   It's "Glenn O for Wano" on the WILI morning show whenever Wayne Norman's coverage of UConn sports away games takes him on the road.     He has also been known to sit in on WILI's Saturday Morning Sixties.

Glenn's background includes programming several stations in the Northeast, plus positions in Hartford at WWYZ, WRCH, WZMX and WDRC.    The North Branford, CT native now lives in Colchester with his wife Linda and two cats.    New Hampshire has been like a second home and favorite getaway for years, but his unusual fixation with all things Canadian grew out of an intense interest in history and geography.   Glenn is a self-described news junkie who also has a passion for programming music on the radio.    He adds, "I get lots of satisfaction out of working at giving the listener what they want, not just what I like or think I can get away with."
